Known for his making of films based on reality, director AMR Ramesh is now planning a feature film around the killing of female journalist Gauri Lankesh.
The director condemns the killing, and has reportedly said that he is gearing up for the film as he feels there are similarities between the killings of Gauri, and rationalists MM Kalburgi and CPI leader Govind Panasare, who were shot dead in a similar gruesome manner, which is a notion echoed by many others as well.
However, the director further points out that unlike some people who are making direct allegations, his film will focus on the investigation itself. His other two films Aaspota, (being made in Telugu and Tamil) and Roopa v/s Sasikala are in the production stage. There is speculation that Rana Dagubatti will play the role of a senior IPS in Aaspota which revolves the assassination of former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi.
