Power-full

The suspense factor in actor Puneeth Rajkumar's latest film, is responsible for its success.

He encountered ‘it’ for the first time in his decade long career, which he started as a child artiste winning a national award. The ‘it’, we are talking about is the deadly spirit in Natasaarvabhowma which the Power Star gets possessed with for a reason.

It has become a rage amongst the audience, especially all Power Star fans.

In a first, the movie has been released in at least 1,394 shows across the state with first day screenings starting as early as 12 am and going onto run for 24 hours without a break in a theatre in Bengaluru.

Talking about the film’s success Puneeth Rajkumar thanks all his fans who celebrated the release. “I thank everyone for all the unconditional support and love for me and my family. It is a great feeling that those who were waiting for my movie for more than a year are loving it. I enjoyed it, and it was a great experience. Hope they liked my nerdy get-up with the spectacles on,” says Puneeth.

The combination of Puneeth Rajkumar and Anupama Parameshwaran has created reel magic and prompted the producers to cast them both for another project as well. However, nothing is planned yet but the popularity might see both actors paired opposite in another movie in the future.

Puneeth’s previous venture Raajakumara was a huge hit and now with a record number

of shows for Natasaarvabhowma, the huge response has yet again proved the capabilities of Sandalwood following KGF. However, KGF was released in multiple languages unlike this one.

Insofar as the overseas release goes, according to distributor Hema Byregowda, “The film was released a day later on Friday overseas. We had 160 shows in North America (USA and Canada). There were 10 weekend shows in Australia. This was huge for a simultaneous release for a Kannada film,” she said.

Director Pavan Wadeyar elaborates, “Puneeth Sir has a strong family audience who looks for content-oriented tales and this story and the suspense factor till the end has worked well for the audience,” he concludes.
