Failure is the catalyst for David Edward Carpenter’s fitness journey

David’s leadership is apparent through everything he does and his social media feeds are a constant source of wisdom.

If you look at David Edward Carpenter’s current lifestyle it can be hard to imagine the struggles and hardships that he had to enduretocreate it for himself.At the age of just 24, he became the fasted person to be promoted to the board of directors in the life insurance industry after achieving incredible sales and company growth in a short span of time. After several business setbacks, it was finally fitness that helped David build his confidence and drive to succeed at anything in life.

David had always been a promising athlete, he played Varsity basketball at Shadow Mountain High School for four years and served as team captain.However, David dropped out of college to pursue his entrepreneurial ambitions. At the age of 19, he had earned a company BMW after leading sales of $1.5 million in 2014, but things quicklyunravelled. In just two years the whole company had failed, and he had to return the car. David set about forming another company soon after, but it too went under in less than a year.
David’s mother wassupporting the family by herself. Hewas grateful for everything his mother had done and he recognized all the sacrifices she had made. This motivated him to continue, in the hopes of one day being able to take care of her.

David channelled his energy into bodybuilding, although he had very little experience and lacked the finances to afford a personal trainer. Despite this, his drive and dedication saw him through, and he ended up competing in a national competition which instilled in him a new sense of confidence.David added, “Nobody likes hard times, but it’s the difficult experiences that serve as catalysts tohelp you become who you are truly meant to be.”

Spurred on by the confidence bodybuilding had given him, he found the courage to reach out to people that had achieved great success, which lead to him to meeting his mentor. That’s how he becameinvolved in the life Insurance industry.

David worked as a server at a restaurant to help pay for the training required to work in financial services. In his first week working as an agent, he generated a great deal of revenue and that’s when he knew he was on the right path. The rest is history.

David’s leadership is apparent through everything he does and his social media feeds are a constant source of wisdom and inspiration for others.David used his set-backs to fuel his inner fire and strive to succeed. While fitness helped him get back on his feet, it paved the way for his rise to the very top of the financial services industry. David says that "We might not be where we want to be yet but we’re on a mission until we get there. Never allow fear and doubt to deter you from your goals.”
