When bong wedded boms
Actors Diganth Manchale and Aindrita Ray got married in a very private traditional ceremony at a resort near Nandi Hills on December 12. The mehendi and haldi ceremonies were held earlier, and social media is brimming with photographs of the couple. The three-day affair was carefully planned keeping in mind the couple’s sensibilities. Aindrita and Diganth’s wedding card had a logo of ‘D&A’ (their initials) and a line saying, “Bong weds Boms” referring to Diganth’s Bomman or Brahmin roots. A city-based wedding planner’s company had planned the wedding with a focus on eco-friendly decor. The celebration of Ray’s Bengali origins with Diganth’s Brahmin-Kannada origins was what made the wedding special.
Going eco-friendly, the couple who loves nature also stressed on a ‘no wastage’ policy. Even their wedding invite included a hamper made of recycled wood. It contained an olden day glass jar with medi pickle (from Malnad), rosogullas, and came wrapped in jute and lace... Both Aindrita and Diganth wanted to keep the nuptials private, for close friends and family only. Diganth’s friends organised special skits and performances for the mehendi and haldi ceremonies. Flowers, jute, and simplicity, the Chocolate Hero and his bride danced, ate and partied with their friends. The wedding saw many popular faces from Sandalwood in attendance — Actors Sudeep, Darshan, Ganesh, Prajwal Devaraj, Prem, director Yogaraj Bhat among many others. The couple will have a cocktail party-cum-reception at a city hotel on December 15. According to sources, the couple has allegedly given exclusive rights of their wedding to a TV channel.
