Seeing political parties inviting star actors to join them to encash on their popularity is not a rare phenomenon. While many have maintained a safe distance from politics, recently, Real Star Upendra finally ended the suspense over entering into politics in grand style. Instead of joining an established party, he launched his own party Prajakiya, claiming to work for the real cause of the people without corruption and money and power hungry MOs. Several Kannada actors have been active in politics including Ramya, Tara, Bhavana, Shruthi and some senior actors too including Jayamala, Umashree, etc.
After Upendra, the alleged news of Challenging Star Darshan joining politics is making the rounds in Gandhinagar, and the corridors of Vidhana Soudha, especially with his mother being an active member of the Congress Party.
However, the actor seems to have made it very clear that he will not join politics. Sources say that actors do not like the politics of appeasing all, and hence he might eventually stick to what he loves the most — acting.
