For a third vik-tory
This is a classic case of following one’s dreams to attain the goal at all costs. This young chap has come a long way from managing to become an assistant to a film director and later becoming a hero before succeeding with back-to-back projects. The Kendasampige and College Kumara hero Vikky Varun is back with his third film which is slated for launch in the coming weeks. He speaks with Bengaluru Chronicle from California, where he is presently pursuing a short course in filmmaking at the New York Film Academy. The actor talks about his ambitious third project, his future prospects and much more.
Formerly, Santhosh Reva who has changed his name to Vikky Varun since his debut movie Kendasampige directed by Duniya Suri shares that he has been pursuing a short film course in filmmaking and acting at the New York Film Academy. “I wanted to do it for quite some time, and since I had the break after my second film College Kumar, I applied for it. Not a detailed one but it gives a brief look into how films are made in Hollywood along with the latest technologies involved in it. Acting is another part of the course. As my third film is in progress with the script getting finalised, I had to shorten my course and will be heading for my third venture in a day or two,” says Vikky Varun.
Talking about his first two films, Vikky adds that being an actor itself was a big deal for him considering that he had to work hard to get recognised, firstly as a technician and thereafter getting an opportunity to become a hero directed by his mentor Suri sir.
“I became a hero by chance especially without a technical background and hence it was a big responsibility for me to work hard instead of simply accepting offers which have been coming from various corners including big banner projects. I was in search of a sensible project which guarantees quality which audience would love it for sure. First one was a thriller, and next a family drama and I am now trying a new genre which will be a surprise package. It is going to be a commercial mass marsala but with the right amount of everything which the audience would expect,” he reveals.
His third venture which is yet to titled is being directed by Raghu Kanadka, a popular ad filmmaker who has worked with Karthik Subbaraj. Further, it is written by Satya Prakash of Rama Rama Re fame for which Vasuki Vaibhav has composed the music.
Vikky even plans to direct a movie alongside his acting career after his third venture. He wraps up by saying that as his parents are asking him to get married, he has given them the green signal to search for a bride for him once his completes his third film.
