Spitfire, reely!

Actress Sruthi Hariharan, who's making waves with her latest film Godhi Banna Sadharana Mykattu, gets candid in this quick-fire.

A pick up line you want to use on someone.
I’d like to use the line ‘Do you have a parking ticket ‘cos you have fine written all over you!’ Another one is ‘Are you Fred Flintstone, cos baby you make my bed rock!’

What does acting mean to you?
Acting to me is escapism from reality, a chance to mute the noises of reality and explore sudden and unplanned moments that are both magical and beautiful.

If you had to choose one supernatural power, what would it be?
I’d choose invisibility ‘cos there’s so much more I could do if I were invisible.

Million bucks or true love
True love, anyday. Money is important too, but not as much as love.

Most memorable fan moment:
I recently shared a pani puri with a fan. Someone next to me recognised me and we had a great conversation over a plate of pani puri.

Quirky trait or something about you we don’t know:
I have this one blanket that I absolutely love. I’ve been using it since the time I was born, and I can’t sleep or eat without it!

One song you’d never delete from your playlist:
Hallelujah by Leonard Cohen. I love the lyrics – the way it speaks of love is beautiful. Another song that I’d never delete is called Kathe Ondhu Shuruagidhe from my film Godhi Banna.

One celebrity you’d like to take out on a date:
Sharmiela Mandre. She’s a woman who has a lot of secrets and is quite mysterious – I’d like to know more about her.

If not an actor what would you have been?
I’d be a dancer because I absolutely love dancing. I’d be doing something in the entertainment industry even if I weren’t an actor.

One role you would kill for:
Michelle Williams’s role from Blue Valentine or Meryl Streep’s role in Kramer vs Kramer.
