After making his Bollywood debut in Andha Kanoon in the early 80s, some of superstar Rajinikanth’s super hit films were remade in Hindi. His super duper hit Moondru Mugam, where he portrays a triple role character was remade in Hindi by T Rama Rao as John Jani Janardhan, something that ran for over 100 days at the box office. Sandalwood is all set to remake this film, but with a twist. This is Guru Deshpande's latest venture. Guru is known to have boosted Rocking Star Yash's career while giving Meghana Raj a new lease of life in Raja Huli.
However, the Kannada version of John Jani Janardhan will not be a triple role venture, but instead, will have Krishna Ajai Rao, Loose Mada Yogesh and Darling Krishna portraying the title roles. Mumbai based model Kamna Ranawat makes her Sandalwood debut in this one. Interestingly, director Guru Deshpande was away from the limelight for sometime despite giving back-to-back hits, after his name allegedly made the rounds in a sting operation over casting couch. Let's hope this remake of John Jani Janardhan helps to regain his “good image”!
