A rush' of fresh talent!
The latest sensation in Sandalwood, has arrived with a beautiful and glowing smile. And, it’s so contagious that following her successful debut in the much-acclaimed Kirik Party, which is breaking records, actress Rashmika Mandanna is ready to face more “challenges.”
She has a film on the anvil with the one and only Challenging Star Darshan, and another with a “biggie,” both in Kannada (the details of which have yet to be revealed). Not just that, the gorgeous lass has been flooded with offers from neighbouring film industries as well. Many recognise her as Saanvi in Kirik Party and Rashmika, the Coorg beauty with a killer smile, speaks to Bengaluru Chronicle post the best party ever, to start a new year.
Just like Saanvi, Rashmika who is currently pursuing the final semester in journalism and psychology, is all smiles after the enormous success of Kirik Party. Rashmika says, “It was a dream come true for me. So many things happened before the film was released, and after the release. I am so glad that people are talking about me, and there are also many asking me to work in their films. It’s such a great feeling when someone appreciates your presence in such a good film. I am yet to watch the film as an actor, but every time I watch it as a part of the audience, it seems to connect with any personality, not just as a student but in general as well.”
The actress feels the characters are so well-presented that many connect with Karna, Saanvi and Arya on a personal level. “Most of us feel the pressures of life — as a student, teacher or even a child, and all of us wish to break free and live a life filled with fun and mischief.”
Now, that the party is over and Rashmika alias Saanvi is ready to move on, she plans on taking up various courses after completing graduation. “I love keeping busy, and as one cannot simply work round the clock. I may take up a couple of courses, in journalism or fashion, and indulge in others things which keeps me entertained,” Rashmika smiles.
As far as her “trademark” onscreen spectacled avatar is concerned, she feels that it was a part of Saanvi’s character and incidentally, she now wears them to protect her sensitive eyes! About her overnight stardom, the actress feels that in real life, she is busy playing real characters — a daughter, elder sister (she has a four-year-old sister), a student and many more.
“I love keeping everyone around me happy and content. Acceptance has not been a problem so far, as people who have identified me, come up asking whether I am Saanvi, and want a photo with me. The difference is that prior to my debut as an actress, I had a family and friends, and now the family has been extended to a larger fan following. I am happy to see all my family members happy and smiling,” she pipes.
In her upcoming venture alongside Darshan, Rashmika plays a rather bindaas character, completely different from her debut. “I would love to play roles similar to Saanvi to keep others smiling, but I shall try my best to explore more facets as an actress,” she says. We spot a tattoo on her hand, which she says is “irreplaceable” and it was something she got done when she was in school.
