Former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy and his filmy connection are well-known ever since he started distributing, exhibiting and producing films under the banner Chennambika Films. After launching his son Nikhil as a hero, he is now getting a biopic done on himself by his filmy friend and director S Narayan. Kumaraswamy himself had been talking about his biopic for some time now. It was recently launched under the title Bhoomiputra meaning ‘son of the earth’! The title which was earlier owned by another production house has even transferred it to Chennambika Films clearing the decks for the film. Arjun Sarja is playing HDK on the silver screen and one can only wonder who all from HDK’s real life will feature in this reel one!
Aashika in garuda
After her ongoing venture, Mugul Nage starring Golden Star Ganesh, actress Aashika Ranganath has bagged yet another one – Garuda starring Siddharth Mahesh who made his debut in Sipayi, a flop at the box office. For Garuda, choreographer Dhan Kumar turns director. This film is also said to feature Deepa Sannidhi in the lead, while Aashika is one of the female leads in it. After Happy New Year, musician Raghu Dixit returns to this film to score music.
Double dhamaka for Amulya
Golden Queen Amulya, who is busy these days inviting her close ones for her wedding with Jagdish which is scheduled on May 12, will also be shining brightly on the silver screen this Friday with her film Maasthi Gudi releasing on her wedding day!
