Shandar run for the masterpiece

The gorgeous hudugi is busy in the locales of Italy but can't wait to get back home for three mega movies that are on her agenda.

After her Masterpiece performance, Shanvi Srivastava is choosing her projects with great care. So it’s no surprise that she is ready with a hat-trick of star ventures including one with Challenging Star Darshan in Tarak, Mufti featuring Century Star Shivarajkumar and Srii Murali, and finally Avane Sriman Narayana starring Rakshit Shetty. The pretty Shanvi Srivastava, who is currently shooting in the exotic locations of Italy for Tarak along with Darshan, and Sruthi Hariharan, speaks exclusively with Bengaluru Chronicle about her films, shooting abroad and more.

“I am having a gala time shooting for Tarak in Italy right now, we are in Milan and surrounding areas. We flew into Switzerland from Italy for the rest of the shooting schedule of total 22 days. This time, thankfully, I have a break of six days in between the 22 days shoot.

“I have been travelling a lot during my break. However, when I had to shoot, the Sun was beating down heavily and my skin was burnt, but when Sruthi was shooting, the weather was so pleasant. Later, when everyone found it hard to cope up the bitter cold, I just enjoyed chilling as I had enough of the sun by then,” says Shanvi Srivastava. The actress reveals that she chose Tarak for its brilliant script as she will be seen in a different avatar for the first time onscreen. “Tarak will be my first-ever film where I am sharing the screen space with another heroine. It has been a great learning experience to act alongside Darshan, and also Sruthi Hariharan, they have been great co-stars,” Shanvi adds. She also thought that Challenging Star Darshan is the most down-to-earth star to work with.

“Working with Challenging Star Darshan was not challenging at all! He is not just sweet, but one of the humblest actors I have come across. He is very comfortable to work, very professional, and very friendly when not shooting. It was actually the script by director Milana Prakash that impressed me to take up Tarak,” she says. Shooting abroad also has its own perks for Shanvi who had a gala time learning the new language, and meeting new people. “I am making the best use of my sign language skills to talk to the Italians. Though, I ate pasta and pizza, I still prefer Indian-made Italian food than authentic Italian. However, gorging on the ice-creams (gelato) has been my best pass time as I was eating icecream during almost all the breaks,” says the girl with a sweet tooth.

Shooting for Tarak apart, she also has Saheba which is ready for release that also marks the debut of Crazy Star V Ravichandran’s son Manoranjan. Then, there is Mufti where she plays the love interest to Srii Murali. Sachin who makes his directorial debut with Avane Sriman Narayana also stars Shanvi in the lead with Rakshit Shetty. “Avane Sriman Narayana is expected to start shooting in August. The team has made some changes in the script, which I am yet to go through. I am looking forward to working with such a talented team. I am having so much fun right now and don’t feel like going back. Wish everyone shot overseas for a longer period,” smiles Shanvi, before heading off on a para-gliding adventure.
