Bengaluru: Sandalwood up in arms against dubbing
Bengaluru: Even as the Kannada dubbed version of Tamil film ‘Yennai Arindhaal’, starring Ajith Kumar, is set for release this week, a majority of the sandalwood has revived its fight against dubbing.
Senior actors and activists have warned that they will not allow the release of the dubbed film and are prepared to face the consequences. Actor and politician Jaggesh, said that he will set fire to theatres releasing the dubbed film and would was prepared to go to jail.
Actor Shivarajkumar also reiterated his stand saying that the Kannada film industry has always opposed dubbing movies to Kannada and would protest against any such attempt.
Kannada activist Vatal Nagaraj has called for a bandh, holding a huge rally in the coming week protest against dubbing. However, Krishnegowda, the producer of the dubbed version of the Tamil film said dubbing was not unconstitutional and they were releasing the film legally.
On in the minimum alternate tax, exports from these zones stood at Rs 2.36 lakh crore during April-Sept 2016. Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra, Telengana and Uttar Pradesh are among the states which contributed the most to exports.
