Director Ashwin Kumar has stated that the upcoming Bollywood film Ramayana will create history. Ashwin Kumar, who is directing the mythological animated film Mahavatar Narsimha, reflected on the failure of the film Adipurush as a learning experience for mythological cinema.

He expressed optimism about the high-budget Ramayana, directed by Nitesh Tiwari and starring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi, believing it has the potential to be a game-changer for Indian cinema. Kumar emphasized the enduring relevance of Bharat's epic stories like the Ramayana and the need for them to be treated with proper cinematic respect. He hoped Ramayana will set new standards and create history in Indian filmmaking.

Led by Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Ram, Sai Pallavi as Sita, and Yash as Ravana, the star cast is nothing short of spectacular. Sunny Deol will play Lord Hanuman, while Kajal Aggarwal plays Mandodari. Joining them are Lara Dutta (Kaikeyi), Rakul Preet Singh (Surpanakha), Vivek Oberoi (Vidhyutjiva), and Ravi Dubey (Lakshman). The first part is slated for a Diwali 2026 release, with the second part following in Diwali 2027.
