Rajamouli Hints at RRR Sequel, But It May Take Time

Director S.S. Rajamouli has finally offered a glimpse into his thoughts on a potential sequel to RRR, the blockbuster that took the world by storm.

Director S.S. Rajamouli has finally offered a glimpse into his thoughts on a potential sequel to RRR, the blockbuster that took the world by storm. Starring NTR Jr. and Ram Charan, RRR earned international acclaim and even bagged an Oscar for its electrifying song "Naatu Naatu." Speculation about a sequel has circulated for a while, and Rajamouli has occasionally acknowledged the possibility.

Now, there's a fresh update. During the RRR screening and live concert at the iconic Royal Albert Hall in London, Upasana Kamineni Konidela was seen asking Rajamouli whether he planned to make RRR 2. With a smile, Rajamouli responded, “We will definitely do it.” Upasana replied warmly, “God bless you.” This moment quickly went viral on social media, reigniting excitement among fans.

However, the sequel might not happen anytime soon. Rajamouli is currently focused on SSMB29, a high-profile project starring Mahesh Babu. Meanwhile, a noted producer offered a realistic timeline, saying, “Rajamouli may have been carried away by the moment, but if a sequel happens, it will likely take two or three years.”

He elaborated further: “NTR will be tied up with Prashanth Neel’s project, followed by Devara 2 with Koratala Siva. Ram Charan is working on Peddi and is expected to collaborate next with Sukumar for an action-adventure. Rajamouli himself will be busy with SSMB29 until at least 2026. So realistically, something might come together in 2027 or 2028—provided no new commitments arise for the actors or director.”

For now, fans of RRR will have to be patient and keep their hopes alive for what could eventually become RRR 2.
