Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda on Life After Marriage: We’re Best Friends, Best Roommates

Appearing on Karan Johar’s Maanvavar Shaadi Show, Pulkit described marriage as the next level of friendship.

Pulkit Samrat and Kriti Kharbanda wear married life warmly, honestly, and companionably. The actor couple, who embarked on married life in March last year, opened up about the ups and downs in their relationship journey and life after marriage to give refreshing insights into modern love and partnership.

Appearing on Karan Johar’s Maanvavar Shaadi Show, Pulkit described marriage as the next level of friendship. “It is beautiful. More than married life, I think we are best friends and best roommates. I think that’s what keeps the relationship alive,” he shared. His words underlined how comfort, understanding, and everyday companionship form the foundation of their bond rather than big gestures in themselves.

Kriti resonated with the same views as Pulkit's and showed her commitment to love, believing in it. "I fully recommend marriage, 100 per cent. I am a big propagator of the belief that when you find love, you must do everything to keep it in your life," she says, underlining a belief that relationships work if nurtured with intention and effort.

The couple also did not shy away from speaking about living together before marriage, a topic that cropped up when Karan Johar spoke about how cohabitation can bring out the realities. Pulkit explained that it is this very reason why he and Kriti believe so strongly in live-in relationships. “Because of that, both of us are big advocates of living together before deciding to get married. That’s the best thing to do. We were in a live-in relationship for two years,” he revealed.

Infusing a personal touch, Kriti spoke about how the pandemic wove in their journey. “During Covid we were together but not living in the same apartment. Post Covid we properly moved in together. We found a house that wasn’t his or mine, but ours, and then built that home together,” she said.

Their candid conversation represented love, companionship, and a bonding period in life quite relevantly, making Pulkit and Kriti's relationship resonate with many modern couples of today.
