Producer Slams Vijay Fans for ‘Sabotaging’ Parasakthi Amid Jana Nayagan Delay

Parasakthi producer Dev Ramnath lashed out at Vijay's fans, questioning why they are spreading negativity about his film.

The release date for Thalapathy Vijay’s Jana Nayagan is yet to be announced. The film, which was supposed to be released in theaters on January 12, has been stalled due to censorship issues. Meanwhile, Sivakarthikeyan’s Parasakthi hit screens as scheduled without any delay.

Parasakthi producer Dev Ramnath lashed out at Vijay's fans, questioning why they are spreading negativity about his film. He tweeted:

"Just because we are releasing alongside your film doesn’t give you the right to sabotage ours. We announced our release date first. Did we try to stop your film? Never. I was at the CBFC office every single day, in Chennai and Mumbai, to overcome hurdles. We were dealing with our censor issues just as your team was. We cleared ours less than 18 hours before the release. Negative reviews, using old videos, influencing people, shouting political slogans in theaters, and messing with BookMyShow ratings—this isn’t competition. You did the same to a big film last year. Speaking as a cinema lover, this isn't healthy for any of us. Parasakthi is about a student movement that we Tamils should be proud of. We will fight this, just the way our students did."

Parasakthi is directed by Sudha Kongara. It stars Sreeleela as the female lead. Jayam Ravi has a prominent character.
