Premalu Hero Naslen Knocks Out Priyadarshi in Telugu States?

Gymkhana collected around Rs 2 crore plus, while Sarangapani Jathakam managed just Rs 1.65 crore over the last three days in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana

According to a leading distributor, young Malayalam actor Naslen — who shot to fame with the breezy romantic entertainer Premalu — has now returned with a boxing-centric comic caper Gymkhana (originally Alappuzha Gymkhana in Malayalam) and has knocked out Priyadarshi’s Sarangapani Jathakam this week at the Telugu box office.

"Gymkhana collected around Rs 2 crore plus, while Sarangapani Jathakam managed just ₹1.65 crore over the last three days in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. The Malayalam actor has clearly outwitted the Telugu star," he said.
The refreshing mix of boxing and humor in Gymkhana seems to have drawn larger footfalls compared to the old-fashioned astrological theme of Sarangapani Jathakam. "Today’s audience connects better with subtle, innovative storytelling rather than predictable, staple comedy," he added.
Malayalam filmmakers have been consistently impressing Telugu audiences of late, with hits like Premalu and Manjummel Boys each raking in over Rs 10 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana alone.
Coming back to Gymkhana, the film still needs to sustain its momentum to move into the profitable zone. Meanwhile, Sarangapani Jathakam appears to be losing steam and may find it tough to cross the Rs 10 crore mark to reach safety.
