Hyderabad: The makers of the much-hyped ‘Kalki 2898 AD’ have reportedly resolved to release their magnum opus starring Prabhas and Deepika Padukone in two parts since they have extensively shot the film. “They have shot elaborately and extensively and plan to earmark 40% of the footage for the second part since it has loads of key scenes and characters,’ says a source who claims that the budget for both parts would cross a whopping sum.
Chennai sources further add, “The budget could cross even Rs 700 crore since the film has to be extensively shot with a big casting and most of the part 1 character would reappear in the second part if everything falls in place,” he adds. Justifying the second part, he says, “Superstar Kamal Hassan’s portion would be much lengthier in the second part since he would be seen just for 12 minutes in the first part, so Kamal would be sparing more dates along with Amitabh, Deepika, and others,” he adds.
He further claims that ‘sequels’ for much-anticipated films are quite common to recover huge investments riding the franchise's success. “Indian 2’ and ‘Pushpa 2’ are some best examples that have generated a lot of hype and also business prospects in varied languages,” he concludes.
