Actress Poonam Kaur has, for the first time, publicly addressed rumours linking her to Congress MP Rahul Gandhi, firmly denying any personal relationship. She clarified that she met Rahul Gandhi only in connection with her handloom business and had briefly walked with him at an event. According to her, certain media outlets misrepresented the interaction and irresponsibly spread rumours about an affair and even marriage.

Speaking to a YouTube channel, Poonam said the gossip reached absurd levels, with reports allegedly claiming she had secret children and abortions. She dismissed these claims sarcastically, calling them completely false and defamatory.

Poonam shared that she built most of her acting career in Telugu cinema and continues to live in Hyderabad even though film offers have slowed down. Over the years, she said her name has repeatedly been dragged into political controversies. She alleged that some political groups deliberately linked her to an actor-turned-politician to further their own agendas.

In a recent interview, the actress made disturbing harassment allegations. She claimed that people from Kadapa once pressured her to hold a press meet and speak against a particular actor. Initially, they allegedly tried to bribe her with money, and later offered political positions. When she refused both, she claimed she was threatened with the release of her nude photos and videos.
