Modi Hails ANR as Pride of India in Meeting with Nagarjuna

Praises ANR’s cinematic and philanthropic legacy; Nagarjuna expresses gratitude for the recognition

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met actor Akkineni Nagarjuna and his family in New Delhi and later shared his thoughts on X. He wrote, "It was a delight to meet you, Nagarjuna Garu, and your family. ANR Garu is a pride of India, and his iconic performances will continue to captivate generations to come."

Expressing gratitude for the meeting, Nagarjuna posted, "Profoundly thankful to the Hon’ble Prime Minister for Friday’s meeting at Parliament House. It was an honor to present Akkineni Ka Virat Vyaktitva by Padma Bhushan awardee Dr. Yarlagadda Lakshmi Prasad—a tribute to my father ANR Garu’s cinematic legacy."

In another post, Nagarjuna highlighted the Prime Minister’s appreciation for ANR’s contributions beyond cinema. "It was overwhelming to hear Hon'ble Prime Minister @narendramodi ji’s commendations for ANR Garu’s philanthropic legacy and his high regard for both @AnnapurnaStdios and Annapurna College of Film and Media as a pivotal institution for aspiring filmmakers. This esteemed acknowledgment fills us with pride and gratitude."

Nagarjuna was accompanied by his wife, Amala Akkineni, son Naga Chaitanya, and daughter-in-law Sobhita Dhulipala, who also shared moments from the meeting on her Instagram stories.
