Deputy Chief Minister and actor Pawan Kalyan is all set to return to the silver screen with his long-delayed period action drama Hari Hara Veera Mallu, which hits theatres on July 24. With the release around the corner, the Power Star has kicked off an aggressive promotional campaign, giving fans and the media a rare glimpse into his cinematic and philosophical world. "I had spared 3 days from promotions," he quipped

During one such media interaction, Pawan was asked to share details about the film’s plot. Smiling thoughtfully, he responded, “Veera Mallu is not just a story of sword fights and palaces. It is the story of a man who stood for Dharma when cruelty was the law.”

The film is set during the oppressive rule of Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, a time when Hindus were forced to pay Jizya tax merely to practice their faith. According to Pawan, the film portrays a fictional warrior who resists this injustice with valor.“Some people think Veera Mallu is Sarvai Papanna. But let me be clear — he is fictional. What’s real is the oppression of that era. This is our way of showing what it means to stand up against it,” he clarified.

The film also touches upon the historical trajectory of the legendary Kohinoor diamond, believed to have been discovered near the Krishna River and eventually taken by the British.“Our film weaves fact and fiction — history and heroism,” he said.

Pawan didn’t shy away from talking about the stormy path the film took.

“We had to face political pressure, financial bottlenecks, and even natural disasters. Ticket prices were unfairly slashed during the previous government. It hurt our producers. But we stood our ground.” '

When asked how he balances cinema with politics, the Deputy CM was quick to say:

“Cinema gave me identity. But politics gave me responsibility. That will always come first.” Still, he admitted that acting remains a passion he won’t abandon easily.

“If God permits, I’ll continue doing films. Veera Mallu is special to me, and we’ve already completed 20% of Part 2.”

He ended the interaction with a note of gratitude: “I thank my producers who stood by me like a rock. This film is not just mine — it belongs to everyone who believes in justice, faith, and courage.”

As Hari Hara Veera Mallu nears release, fans are waiting to see not just a cinematic spectacle but a story that reflects Pawan Kalyan’s ideals — rebellion, resilience, and righteousness.
