Pawan Kalyan Resumes OG, Budget Soars to ₹240 Crore?
Pawan Kalyan has resumed shooting for his much-anticipated action thriller 'OG'.

Following the completion of Hari Hara Veera Mallu, superstar Pawan Kalyan has resumed shooting for his much-anticipated action thriller 'OG'. According to sources, the film's budget has escalated significantly due to production delays, now reaching a staggering ₹240 crore, up from its initial estimate of ₹200 crore. This makes OG one of the most expensive films in Pawan Kalyan’s career.
“Pawan has about 20 working days left on the film since he wrapped up his work before Andhra Pradesh elections, and now he has returned after becoming Deputy Chief Minister,” a source revealed. “The budget has increased mainly due to the delay in shooting and revised production requirements.”
Earlier, DVV Entertainments, the banner behind OG, took to X (formerly Twitter) and shared a BTS photo with the caption: “Malli Modhalaindi…. Eeesaari Mugiddaaam… #OG #TheyCallHimOG #FireStormIsComing.” Fans responded enthusiastically, with comments like “The firestorm is coming” and “Original gangster is back,” expressing excitement over the film’s revival after a temporary pause due to Kalyan’s political commitments.
Directed and written by Sujeeth, OG casts Pawan Kalyan as the enigmatic Ojas Gambheer in a gritty gangster narrative. Bollywood star Emraan Hashmi joins the cast as the antagonist. “It’s being crafted as a pan-India film since gangster dramas have universal appeal. That’s a key part of the strategy to recover the massive investment,” the source added. “Pawan’s role is intense and layered, but the film also blends romance and soulful music, making it a complete commercial entertainer.”
