Pawan Kalyan Fans Unhappy With ‘Three Endings’ of Hari Hara Veera Mallu

Director Krish and Jyothi Krishna’s much-hyped historical epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM), starring Pawan Kalyan.

Director Krish and Jyothi Krishna’s much-hyped historical epic Hari Hara Veera Mallu (HHVM), starring Pawan Kalyan, has been the subject of criticism since its theatrical release on July 24.

The film underperformed at the box office, with audiences citing weak visual effects and a flat screenplay. Its digital debut on Prime Video on August 20 has only reignited the backlash—this time over its multiple climaxes.

Since its release, HHVM has seen three different endings across versions:

Theatrical Cut (2h 43m): The film ended with a bizarre tornado fight between Veera Mallu (Pawan) and Aurangzeb (Bobby Deol). Second Cut: After negative feedback, producer AM Rathnam trimmed the runtime, replacing the tornado climax with Aurangzeb's warning, “Aandhi vastundi (A storm is coming),” as Veera rides toward him. Now, OTT Cut (2h 33m): The latest version ends abruptly after a fight sequence, dropping both the tornado and the “storm” teaser.

Fans Left Confused and Frustrated

The frequent changes have left fans baffled. On X (formerly Twitter), one user wrote: “Malli kotha climax aa? (Not a new climax again?)” Another commented, “You ended the film after the Chowki Thana fight. Wasn’t the second version better with ‘Aandhi vastundi’?”

Some went further, mocking the director’s craft. “First day you gave an RRR-type ending, third day another ending, and OTT has yet another. Who even certified you from film school?” read one harsh tweet.

A Section of Fans Approve

Not all reactions were negative. A few viewers felt the OTT cut was tighter and more effective. “This should have been the ending in theatres—a high note. A costly miss,” wrote one fan, while another said the filmmakers had lost a “golden chance” to impress on the big screen.

Starring Pawan Kalyan, Bobby Deol, and Nidhhi Agerwal, Hari Hara Veera Mallu narrates the story of a rebel tasked with seizing the Koh-i-Noor from Mughal emperor Aurangzeb.
