Paatal Lok Creator takes dig at Sandeep Vanga

Sudip Sharma, the acclaimed creator of Paatal Lok, has raised concerns about the growing trend of glorifying violence in mainstream cinema. Speaking on a recent talk show, Sharma candidly expressed his disapproval of films where extreme acts of violence are portrayed without accountability or narrative consequence.
"One man enters a hotel with a gun and kills 150 people, and nobody asks where the police are," Sharma remarked, highlighting the troubling desensitization to violence in popular culture.
Sharma believes violence should not be the centerpiece of storytelling but rather a narrative tool to explore deeper social issues. Through his work in films like NH10 and the series Paatal Lok, Sharma examines how systemic issues contribute to cycles of violence. He emphasizes that depicting violence without consequence risks normalizing it and eroding the moral framework surrounding such acts.
“There is a dangerous glorification of violence with no accountability,” Sharma said, urging audiences to reflect on the ethical implications of such portrayals and their potential real-world impact.
