Akhanda 2: Massive Competition To Own Its Digital Rights

Balakrishna’s upcoming movie, Akhanda 2, is one of the most-awaited films of the year. It is a sequel to the blockbuster hit Akhanda, which was released in 2021 and directed by Boyapati Srinu.
Akhanda 2 is gearing up for a theatrical release on September 25. However, a buzz on social media suggests that the film is likely to be pushed to December.
On the other hand, the non-theatrical rights deal for the film has been going viral. According to reports, JioCinema is the frontrunner to acquire the digital rights of Akhanda 2, one of the biggest releases of the year. They are reportedly offering a lucrative deal that is said to be better than those from Netflix and Amazon Prime. The first part of Akhanda has been streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
