Akhanda 2 Buzz: OTT Giants Vie For Digital Rights As Shooting Progresses Rapidly
Akhanda 2 is slated for a theatrical release during the Dasara festival this year.
Nandamuri Balakrishna's Akhanda 2, one of the year's most anticipated films and his fourth collaboration with director Boyapati Sreenu, is currently filming at a rapid pace. The crew recently wrapped up the interval portions.
With an expected production budget nearing Rs 200 crore, the makers are reportedly busy finalizing non-theatrical rights deals. Leading OTT platforms Amazon Prime Video and Netflix are in a competitive race to acquire the film's digital rights, with substantial offers on the table.
Produced by 14 Reels Plus, the deal is likely to be closed by the end of this month. Akhanda 2 is slated for a theatrical release during the Dasara festival this year, with music composed by SS Thaman.
Aadhi Pinisetty will portray the antagonist in the film. Samyuktha and Pragya Jaiswal are playing key roles.
