OTTs are known as entertainment platforms dishing out movies and web series. Breaking this practice, Telugu OTT platform Aha has conceptualized a business reality television series, Nenu Super Woman.
In a first of its kind in the country, Aha, in association with WE Hub-Telangana government, is offering financial impetus to budding women entrepreneurs in the Telugu states. On the lines of Shark Tank, aired on ABC, women entrepreneurs will be provided an opportunity to pitch their business ideas and seek financial aid from investors, called Angels on the Aha show.
Six businesspersons, including three women and three men, drawn from various trades, are the Angels, who would listen to the pitch, interact with the business women and take a final decision on whether to invest in the business idea presented by the entrepreneurs. A nod to invest in a particular business from any of the Angels can be dubbed as a ‘successful pitch’ and the related woman entrepreneur will get an opportunity to hang her own portrait on the Achievers Wall arranged on the set.
Of course, there will be no loser on the show as those not able to garner investment from the Angels would be compensated by Aha and WE Hub, India’s first women-led incubation centre for women entrepreneurs, an initiative by the Government of Telangana.
As many as 40 women entrepreneurs chosen through a multi-stage process would present their business their pitch and if convinced that it would make money, the Angels would open their doors for financial aid, with some percentage of equity.
The six angels on the show include Sindhura Narayana, MD, Narayana Group, Srihdar Gadhi, Founder and Executive Chairman, Quantela Inc., Deepa Dodla, Promoter-Dodla Dairy, Sudhakar Reddy- Founder Abhi Bus—Founder & CEO –Fresh Bus, Renuka Bodla –Venture Partner, Silverneedle Ventures, Rohith Chennamaneni –Co-founder-Darwinbox who would hear to the business pitch and decide about investment opportunity.
Paduta Teeyaga fame Sri Ramachandra would host the show to be telecast on Friday and Saturday in the weekend.
