Youth-Centric Comedy MAD Continues Global Success on OTT Platforms

The unexpected triumph of the Telugu campus comedy "MAD," featuring Sangeeth Shobhan, Narrne Nithin, and Ram Nithin, has become a sensation in Telugu cinema. Despite the relatively unknown cast, the film, directed and written by Kalyan Shankar, produced by Haarika Suryadevara and Sai Soujanya under Sithara Entertainments and Fortune Four Cinemas, has captivated audiences.

Released in theaters on October 6 amidst tough competition, "MAD" emerged as a surprise hit and, post its theatrical run, made its OTT debut on Netflix on November 3. Two weeks into its OTT release, the film continues to impress viewers globally in multiple languages.

The film's consistent presence in the top 5 and top 10 lists on various platforms attests to its popularity. The combination of a light-hearted theme, clever incorporation of pop-culture references, and lively performances by the young cast has resonated well with OTT audiences. Bheems Ceciroleo, the composer, added to the film's charm with several hit tracks.

Apart from the lead trio, the film features Sri Gouri Priya Reddy, Ananathika Sanilkumar, Gopikaa Udyan, Raghu Babu, Racha Ravi, Muralidhar Goud, Vishnu, Anthony, and Srikanth Reddy. S Naga Vamsi presented the film, edited by Navin Nooli, with cinematography by Shamdat and Dinesh Krishnan B. The screenplay, co-written by Praveen Pattu and Pranay Rao Takkallapalli, has contributed to the film's success.

For those unfamiliar with the cast, Narrne Nithin is the brother-in-law of RRR star Jr NTR, while Sangeeth Shobhan and Ram Nitin have gained recognition through their digital ventures in the OTT space.
