OTT Watch: What to Watch on Prime Video in July 2023

Relive the good old days of college with Hostel Days, or The Summer I Turned Pretty, or Adhura, or Sweet Kaaram Coffee for travel inspo!

MUMBAI: Prime Video brings to the audience a wide variety of content this week.

Hostel Days is a five-part Telugu series is the third version of the much-loved TVF franchise Hostel Daze. It revolves around six students at the engineering college hostel who explore their difficulties with identity, friendship, love and academics. Created by The Viral Fever (TVF) and directed by Aditya Mandala, the series features Darahas Maturu, Akshay Lagusani, Mouli Tanuj Prashanth, Anannyaa Akulaa, Aishwarya Holakaal and Jaiyetri Makana as college students. The series will exclusively stream on Prime Video from July 13.

The Summer I Turned Pretty season 2 is based on the eponymous series written by Bestselling author Jenny Han. Featuring Lola Tung, Gavin Casalegno and Christopher Briney in pivotal roles, the series follows a love triangle between a young girl Belly and her childhood friends, brothers Jeremiah and Conrad. Belly used to count down the days until she could return to Cousins Beach, but with Conrad and Jeremiah fighting over her heart and the return of Susannah's cancer, she's not sure summer will ever be the same. When an unexpected visitor threatens the future of Susannah's beloved house, Belly has to rally the gang to come together—and to decide once and for all where her heart lies. The second season of The Summer I Turned Pretty launches with three episodes on July 14, with new episodes following weekly until the season finale on Friday, August 18 on Prime Video.

Adhura is a horror series that unfolds through two timelines, in 2022 and 2007, as secrets and chilling events plague the students and staff of a prestigious boarding school. What starts as a nostalgic reunion turns sinister when Adhiraj Jaisingh (Ishwak Singh) encounters Vedant Malik (Shrenik Arora), a troubled 10-year-old student. As the past and present collide, a dark secret threatens to emerge, linking Adhiraj to Vedant. Produced by Emmay Entertainment (Monisha Advani, Madhu Bhojwani and Nikkhil Advani) , the series is directed by Gauravv K Chawla and Ananya Banerjee. The seven-episode series features Rasika Dugal, Ishwak Singh, Shrenik Arora andPoojan Chhabra in the lead roles. The series also stars Rahul Dev, Zoa Morani, Rijul Ray, Sahil Salathia, Aru Krishansh Verma, KC Shankar and Jaimini Pathak in pivotal roles and is now streaming on Prime Video.

Sweet Karam Coffee is an eight-episode Tamil series that beautifully encapsulates an unforgettable journey of three women from different generations rekindling their love for life, and discovering the sweet-and-fulfilling scent of self-reliance and self-discovery. Created by Reshma Ghatala, and produced by Lion Tooth Studios Pvt. Ltd, the heartwarming series is directed by Bejoy Nambiar, Krishna Marimuthu, and Swathi Raghuraaman; and stars Lakshmi, Madhoo, and Santhy. The Amazon Original series is now streaming on Prime Video.
