Karthi's Japan OTT Release Date Confirmed

Karthi's highly anticipated con-comedy, "Japan," marked his second release of the year following the critically acclaimed "Ponniyin Selvan 2." In collaboration with director Raju Murugan, the film, produced by SR Prakash Babu and SR Prabhu under Dream Warrior Pictures, brings forth a captivating narrative.

Despite the aggressive promotional campaign and considerable expectations surrounding Karthi's milestone 25th film, "Japan" faced challenges at the box office in both Telugu and Tamil languages. Now, a month after its theatrical run, the film is set to premiere on Netflix on December 11.

Anu Emmanuel, along with Sunil and Vijay Milton in pivotal roles, adds depth to this enthralling entertainer. The storyline revolves around a notorious burglar who steals ₹200 crore worth of ornaments from a Coimbatore jewelry shop, setting the stage for a captivating battle between the thief and the relentless pursuit of law enforcement.

"Japan" also delves into the thief's unique philosophy towards life and his profession. Based on real-life incidents, the film is said to be a biopic of the infamous thief Thiruvarur Murugan, who made headlines for stealing jewels and diamonds worth Rs 13 crore from a popular Chennai jewelry store. The film explores the intricate details of Murugan's life, his audacious heist, and the subsequent events that unfolded.

Featuring music by GV Prakash Kumar and cinematography by S Ravi Varman, "Japan" promises an engaging narrative with a stellar cast and creative team. With Netflix securing the post-theatrical digital rights, audiences can look forward to experiencing the thrill and suspense of "Japan" from the comfort of their homes starting December 11.
