Zoya Akhtar Reveals What Audiences Can Expect from Made In Heaven Season 2

The much-awaited trailer for 'Made in Heaven 2' has finally been released, thrilling fans who have been eagerly waiting for the series to return after three years. At the grand trailer launch in Mumbai, creators Zoya Akhtar and Reema Kagti addressed the delay in Season 2's release.

The unexpected delay

Reema explained, "We took our time with the writing because Season 1 received such a great response. We wanted to elevate the show's standard for the second season. Additionally, the COVID-19 pandemic caused disruptions in the shooting schedule and production process, which also contributed to the delay. But we are finally here."

Zoya reminisced about the reception of the first season over the years, saying, "When Season 1 came out, we were all quite nervous about how it would be received. However, it exceeded our expectations and gained a loyal fandom. People constantly ask me about 'Made in Heaven', and their support has been incredible, even during the long wait for the new season."

What can audiences expect from this season?

As for what viewers can expect from the upcoming season, Zoya revealed, "The characters in Season 2 are more protective and have a strong moral compass when dealing with the challenges around them. The series continues to focus on women and the LGBT community, exploring their lives and experiences in society. Thematically, it's an expansion of the previous season, delving deeper into the characters' attempts to fit into societal norms."

Zoya acknowledged the support and collaboration of Aparna Purohit, who was on board with their creative vision for the show. The first season was nerve-wracking for the team, but to their delight, it was well-received and gained popularity.

She also emphasized the show's "very loyal fandom," stating that no matter what she posts on social media, she is constantly asked about 'Made in Heaven'. Zoya playfully mentioned that her fans were getting irritated due to the long wait for the new season, and she was eager to release it to appease their excitement. Despite the delay, she expressed her gratitude to the show's dedicated fans who have held on to their love for 'Made in Heaven' and continued to support it throughout the wait.

'Made in Heaven Season 2' is a highly anticipated series helmed by an ensemble of talented directors including Alankrita Shrivastava, Neeraj Ghaywan, Nitya Mehra, Reema Kagti, and Zoya Akhtar.
