Here\'s why Anupamaa actress rejected Bigg Boss 17

Sagar Parekh explained in an interview that he was taken aback when offered a spot on Bigg Boss 17.

Sagar Parekh, known for his role as Samar in the popular show "Anupamaa," recently bid adieu to the series due to his character's demise. While he was still part of "Anupamaa," Sagar received offers to participate in reality shows such as Bigg Boss 17 and Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11. His inclination towards reality TV was evident, but he ultimately turned down the opportunity to be on Bigg Boss 17. Here's why:

Sagar Parekh explained in an interview that he was taken aback when offered a spot on Bigg Boss 17. He had anticipated that such opportunities would come after establishing himself as the lead in several TV shows.

"I had received the offer before leaving Anupamaa. I even attended a meeting, and discussions were progressing. However, my parents were not in favor of me joining Bigg Boss. My mom told me, 'I don't want you to be overly famous. I am content with who you are.' I reminded her that this was what she had always wanted. She replied, 'I want you to be an actor and not just a celebrity. I believe your skills will make you a celebrity regardless.' Perhaps, I might participate later," shared Sagar.

As for Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 11, Sagar was keen on participating but was unable to do so due to contractual commitments with "Anupamaa." The shooting for JDJ 11 had already begun, and Sagar couldn't confirm his participation within the required timeframe. Nevertheless, he expressed his willingness to join the dance reality show as a wildcard contestant if given the opportunity.

"Anupamaa," created by Rajan Shahi, premiered in 2020 and features a stellar cast including Rupali Ganguly, Madalsa Sharma, Gaurav Khanna, and Sudhanshu Pandey. The show is a top-rated program on Indian television, airing daily at 10 pm on Star Plus and available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar.
