Noted Actor Pradeep Rawat Passes Away at 74

MUMBAI: Renowned actor Pradeep Singh Rawat, best known for his iconic villainous and character roles across multiple film industries, passed away on Tuesday following a heart attack at his residence here. He was 74.
Born in Delhi in 1952, Rawat carved out a prolific career spanning Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam cinema, alongside appearances in several Doordarshan television series. While he gained early recognition primarily as a main antagonist, he later transitioned seamlessly into character roles.
Telugu Journey Began with ‘Sye’ Rawat made a sensational Tollywood debut with the Nithiin-starrer and S.S. Rajamouli directorial Sye (2004). His chilling performance as the antagonist 'Bhikshu Yadav' earned widespread acclaim and established him as a sought-after villain in Telugu cinema.
He went on to feature in a string of major Telugu blockbusters, including Bhadra, Andarivadu, Chatrapathi, Lakshmi, Stalin, Desamuduru, Yogi, Jagadam, Ghajini, Maska, Oy!, Rebel, Naayak, Baadshah, 1: Nenokkadine, Alludu Seenu, Nenu Sailaja, Sarrainodu, Nene Raju Nene Mantri, Jai Lava Kusa, and Waltair Veerayya, among others.
Bollywood Stint and Awards His Hindi film journey began as early as 1985 with a brief role in Raj Babbar’s Aitbaar. Over the years, he appeared in numerous Bollywood films, occasionally securing prominent roles. His latest movie release was Gayapadda Simham.
For his memorable performance in Sye, Rawat won the Filmfare Award for Best Villain (Telugu), the Santosham Best Villain Award, and the prestigious Nandi Award in 2004.
