Nayanthara’s 60-Foot Cutout Makes Headlines, Kona Venkat Hails Fan Frenzy

Nayanthara is set to make a towering statement with Mookuthi Amman 2, as a massive 60-foot cutout of the actress has become a major talking point ahead of the film’s release.

Nayanthara is set to make a towering statement with Mookuthi Amman 2, as a massive 60-foot cutout of the actress has become a major talking point ahead of the film’s theatrical release on November 6, 2026. Directed by Sundar C, the film is heading for a box-office clash with Suriya’s Scene and the big-budget Ramayana.

The 60-foot cutout has been erected at Vels Theatres in Chembarambakkam, Chennai, drawing attention for its sheer size. There are claims that it is the tallest cutout ever erected for an actress in India, making it an interesting promotional move for the sequel.
The film is also set to release in Telugu under the title Mahasakthi. However, the buzz surrounding the sequel has yet to reach the expected levels, and the makers will need to intensify their promotional campaign in the coming days. The film is produced by Vels Film International and Rowdy Pictures and features Regina Cassandra, Duniya Vijay, Ajay Ghosh, Urvashi, Abhinaya and Yogi Babu, among others.
Commenting on the cutout culture, producer Kona Venkat believes Nayanthara has attained the stature of a leading male star in terms of fan following.
“Nayanthara has definitely attained hero status, and her fans are showing it now,” he said.
He added that erecting towering cutouts of stars such as Chiranjeevi, Balakrishna, Mahesh Babu and Jr NTR has long been a part of fan culture in the Telugu states.
Kona Venkat also pointed out that such celebrations are largely associated with single-screen theatres rather than multiplexes, which generally do not accommodate these kinds of fan festivities.
“The Telugu states have over 900 single screens, and these festivities are bound to increase rather than subside,” he said.
