Nani Revives Talks With Tamil Director Cibi Chakravarthy?

Interestingly, this won’t be Nani’s first collaboration with a Tamil filmmaker.

If reliable sources are to be believed, versatile actor Nani has rekindled discussions with Tamil director Cibi Chakravarthy, best known for the hit film Don. The new project is expected to take off soon.

“Nani is currently busy with action-packed films like HIT 3 and The Paradise, but he’s also looking to switch gears with a new-age entertainer,” says a source. “He already liked the script pitched by Cibi Chakravarthy, which taps into Nani’s funnier side. It’s a perfect blend of action and comedy, planned as a bilingual in Telugu and Tamil.” The source adds that screenplay work is currently underway.

Cibi Chakravarthy rose to fame in Kollywood with Don, a coming-of-age campus drama starring Sivakarthikeyan. The story centered on a reluctant engineering student who constantly clashes with his strict college mentor while trying to discover his true passion and gain his father's approval. The film struck a chord with audiences and became a box office success.

Interestingly, this won’t be Nani’s first collaboration with a Tamil filmmaker. He has previously worked with directors like Samuthirakani (Jenda Pai Kapiraju) and Anjana Ali Khan (Veppam), and he’s known to be fluent in Tamil, making cross-industry collaborations smoother. “He is all set to team up with a Tamil director once again,” the source concludes.

Meanwhile, Nani is gearing up for the release of his much-awaited action film HIT 3, aiming to recreate the box office magic of Saripodhaa Sanivaaram and further solidify his action-hero image. His recent portrayal as a doting father in Hi Nanna also earned him widespread acclaim for his emotional depth and versatility.
