After Thandel, young actor Naga Chaitanya is teaming up with Virupaksha director Karthik Dandu for a socio-fantasy entertainer. The makers have already erected lavish palace and cave sets in Hyderabad, and the project is shaping up to be the most expensive film in Chaitanya’s career.
“It has mythological connections and requires elaborate sets, pushing the budget close to ₹80 crore,” reveals a source. “The film is designed as a pan-India project, centered around a mystical treasure hunt and packed with thrilling moments.”
For Chaitanya, the film marks a significant image makeover. Known for his boy-next-door and romantic roles in Love Story and Majili, he will now be showcased in a larger-than-life avatar. “Fans will be surprised to see a new dimension of Naga Chaitanya on screen,” the source adds.
Director Karthik Dandu, who impressed with his eerie black-magic mystery in Virupaksha, is now expanding his creative canvas with this socio-fantasy script. The project also has a strong backing — director Sukumar is co-producing the film and is said to be impressed with its novel concept and grand scale.
