Nag Ashwin Says Kalki 2 Will Take Some Time To Happen
Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD, fans have been eagerly awaiting its sequel.

After the phenomenal success of Prabhas and Deepika Padukone’s Kalki 2898 AD, fans have been eagerly awaiting its sequel. Earlier, director Nag Ashwin and producer Ashwini Dutt hinted that the shooting of Kalki 2 would begin by the end of this year.
However, in a recent podcast, when asked the big question—“When is Kalki 2?”—Nag Ashwin gave a cautious reply. “A lot of things are connected to it. The actors definitely have to come together. Some of the pre-visualized sequences and action sequences are much bigger, so it will take some time. I don’t have an exact answer to that question,” he said.
Explaining further, Ashwin added, “Everyone is busy. We hope to start shooting by the end of this year. The shoot itself will take time, but post-production usually takes longer. Hopefully in another 2 or 3 years, that’s what I think.”
Meanwhile, Prabhas is juggling multiple projects—Raja Saab and Prabhas Hanu. He is expected to wrap up Raja Saab by this month, while Prabhas Hanu will take longer. On top of that, Sandeep Reddy Vanga is gearing up to start Spirit around September–October, reportedly waiting to maintain Prabhas’s specific look for the film.
With such a packed schedule, fans are now wondering how Prabhas can manage Kalki 2, which demands a completely different look. For now, the sequel’s timeline remains uncertain, and it looks like audiences will have to wait patiently for the next chapter in Nag Ashwin’s epic saga.
