Journey of Raga: Sitarist Rishab Rikhiram Sharma's New Reflective Show
Raga Journey marks a distinct artistic evolution with a return to a full-fledged, traditional Indian classical set

Hot on the heels of unveiling his international tour dates across North America and Europe, pioneering sitar maestro and mental health advocate Rishab Rikhiram Sharma has announced a creative homecoming with the debut of his new, purist classical IP. Titled ‘Journey of Raga’, he is set deliver a deeply reflective, retrospective production that traces directly back to his core classical roots.
To kick off this monumental new chapter, Sharma will treat audiences to a marquee performance set to take place at The Grand Theatre, Nita Mukesh Ambani Cultural Centre (NMACC) on October 3, 2026. In a noteworthy first, the exclusive and intimate preview show has sold out completely within just thirty minutes of sales going live, establishing it as one of NMACC’s first-ever fastest selling cultural show and proving the Gen Z trailblazer’s command over multi- genre formats.
While his global Sitar For Mental Health concert series has generated immense audience reception worldwide, Raga Journey marks a distinct artistic evolution with a return to a full-fledged, traditional Indian classical set. Moving away from his experimental neo-classical configurations, the showcase will center on a deep, unadulterated and intimate exploration of traditional ragas with varying taal (rhythm cycles) in the Maihar Gharana Style as a direct homage to his rigorous traditional training since his childhood days. Honouring his centuries-old Rikhi Ram family legacy (the master luthiers trusted by India’s greatest musical pioneers) the Gen-Z favourite virtuoso will beautifully weave complex traditional classical ragas, deep devotional melodies and the raw acoustic power of the sitar.
Rishab Rikhiram Sharma states, “While Sitar for Mental Health is about pushing the boundaries of where the sitar can fluidly travel in a more contemporary manner, Journey of Raga is a homecoming. Tradition is not something static that we preserve behind us; it is a living, breathing language that we carry forward.”
The performance will remain deeply intertwined with his globally recognized Sitar for Mental Health movement. Functioning as a therapeutic antidote to a fast-paced world, Journey of Raga set uses traditional raga therapy to create a space for mindfulness, emotional connection and collective reflection.
