Yuvan ropes in 'Padma Vibhushan' dad

Isai Gnani' Ilayaraja to compose the music.

The maestro has just been conferred a new laurel in the form of the second highest civilian award — Padma Vibhushan — and the music world is mighty pleased. To tap his dad's deep reservoir of talent, his younger son Yuvan Shankar Raja, has roped in Ilayaraja for his upcoming production Maamanithan.

It has been an inspirational time for the family as Yuvan has just turned producer, having announced his first movie under YSR Productions titled Pyar Prema Kadhal starring two Bigg Boss contestants in Harish Kalyan and Raiza.

On Friday, the young composer unveiled his second venture Maamanithan, with versatile star Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. His mentor and national award winner Seenu Ramasamy will be wielding the megaphone. Said to be an emotional drama, the project got a major boost with 'Isai Gnani' roped in as the music composer.

An excited Yuvan tells DC, “In this day when the great man has been conferred the Padma Vibhushan, we are glad to announce the inclusion of the maestro in our project.

The title Maamanithan gets a larger meaning now. Beyond being his son, I attach a lot of pride in being his fan too. I have learnt the art of music from him. Being his son and privileged enough to learn music at close quarters from him, my heart is filled with joy on having him on board. The very thought of co-composing with him and my brother Karthik Raja makes my journey more meaningful and purposeful”.
