The city played host to maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia on his 80th birthday recently.
The concert was organised by Surmandal in association with the Department of Culture and Tourism, Government of Telangana.

The music maestro was honoured for his contribution to Indian music and the musical evening saw multiple performances and tributes for Panditji. Seven-year-old Shambhavi kicked off the event with a dance recital, followed by a special composition called Guruvandana by eminent flautist Nagaraju Talluri, which was dedicated to Panditji.
The audience turned nostalgic when listening to hit film songs like Tere mere beech me and Dekha ek khwab.
