Anish Sood is a DJ, music producer and composer. He began his career in music at the age of 18. Having been touring since then, he has been in the music scene for almost 10 years now. He will be playing in the city and audience will get a taste of three new tracks from his album for the first time.
Music became a way of life, even before Anish realised it. “Music happened gradually. I was studying mechanical engineering and my passion music just happened to take over. It was just a hobby that I followed and devoted my time to.” Anish describes his music to be mostly house, deep house, pop and techno music. This will not be the first time that he will be playing in the city.
"My first gig in Bengaluru was back in 2011. And it's almost been 6 years now.
I have seen quite a shift. Bengaluru has a very strong young crowd population who are into music" he adds. This mechanical engineering graduate was born and raised in Goa. He says the music scene in Goa is very different to what it is in Bengaluru. He further adds, "The music scene in Goa is very commercial. There are not many venues and theatres in the Goa that are dedicated to music.”
Since Goa is known to be more of a tourist destination, the crowd that is there one week is not around in the next. “People here come out every weekend and that kind of builds the scene and community. When you go to a particular venue, you know the kind of crowd and I think that allows you as an artist to play slightly different sets,” he says. Anish also feels that the crowd here is more musically inclined and are open to new genres.
Anish will be releasing a new studio album in the month of March. He further adds, "The first single of the album titled Starry nights was released in November. The second single is due for release in two weeks and it features Bollywood singer Jonita Gandhi. The third one will be released next month,” he reveals. His performance in the city will feature a few of his signature sounds, house music and he will also be playing tracks from the album. Three unreleased tracks from the album will also be performed at the gig. “At all of my outdoor shoots you will see brand new visuals which are completely in sync with the music and that is exactly what we are working on right now,” he concludes.
