Visakhapatnam: The two-day “Sounds on Sand” music festival kicked off here on Saturday drawing thousands of music lovers. With melodious tunes and musical genius, the RK Beach reverberated with sounds celebrating the spirit of music. Star singer Usha Uthup enthralled the audience with her unique voice, belting out some popular numbers starting with James Bond movie Skyfall title song and others like Dum Maro Dum, songs from Rockstar. The audience could not hold to their chairs and kept swaying when she sang Telugu song Jintaka song from Vikramarkudu.
Two popular Vizag-based bands Echo and Kairoz also amazed the audience with their musical talents. Kairoz band belted out a couple of songs including movie Arjun Reddy. Indian Idol winner L.V. Revanth, Mohammed Irfan and Asees Kaur will be performing at the musical festival on Sunday. The Vizag Chamber Choir will also perform.
“Our aim is to give a visual and musical treat to the visitors by organising the music festival in a grand manner and in the coming years Sounds on Sand musical festival will a synonym of Vizag,” says district collector Pravin Kumar. APTDC will host a series of festivals from November to February to increase the inflow of visitors to Vizag, Araku Valley and many others places in the region.
