Guess who was spotted together recently! STR and Anirudh Ravichander, who were mired in controversy after their infamous Beep Song led to everything from police cases to protests, looked happy to be hanging out together again at the theme song launch for the Madurai Super Giants franchise of the TN Premier League.
The track, titled Aataikku Ready-Ya? was launched yesterday in the presence of none other than former cricketer Virender Sehwag. Sung by STR, Arunraja Kamaraj and MC Vickey, the koothu folk number is composed by music director Thaman.
At the launch, STR said that the song was a tribute to his cricketing days — “I wanted to be a cricketer, and even went to other cities to play matches, even though my father didn’t approve of it at all. I still remember having an amazing time with my teammates, and learning the true value of friendship!”
STR also added that representing the Madurai franchise is extra special to him, as the actor dons the role of ‘Madurai Michael’ in AAA, his upcoming film with Adhik Ravichandran — and the connection with the city is strong!
