The city’s only recovering from the hangover of Sensation — which saw the likes of Axwell, Afrojack and Laidback Luke play — and rumours of big names performing in the city this year are already doing the rounds. The latest name to be dropped is international pop sensation Justin Bieber.
An event on Facebook has surfaced created by one Vanva Entertainment, which dates August 19, 2016, as the date when Justin will be showing up to perform in the city. Not just that — he’s bringing along with him electronic duo Jack Ü, that comprises Skrillex and Diplo. Skrillex, you’ll remember, performed in Hyderabad in October last year.
While all of the artistes’ tour dates on their websites do not list Hyderabad or any other place in India as a destination yet, talk is that the show in Hyderabad is what’s keeping them free during this period, and that they’re just waiting for an official announcement to be made first.
However, in an interview with Glamour magazine that was posted on Wednesday, Justin was asked, “Somewhere in the world you haven’t been that you’d like to go?” to which he replied, “India”, meaning he will, sooner or later, be visiting the country.
Whether he means that professionally or just as a tourist remains to be soon. But with the kind of talent that has been visiting Hyderabad in the past few years — including Armin van Buuren and Tiësto — bringing the Sorry singer to Hyderabad doesn’t seem that far-fetched an idea anymore!
