Beyonc© pauses Glasgow concert
The singer paused for a moment's silence for two police brutality victims.
Singer Beyoncé, who has been a vocal proponent of the Black Lives Matter movement in the US, paused her concert at Glasgow, Scotland on Thursday night for a moment’s silence for two victims of alleged racial profiling by the police. As the crowd stood in silence along with Beyoncé and her dancers, the names of other victims of police brutality scrolled up on a giant screen on stage.
The Lemonade singer also penned an open letter and published it earlier in the day, in which she wrote, “It is up to us to take a stand and demand that they stop killing us. We don’t need sympathy. We need everyone to respect our lives.”
