Justin Bieber to bring Mumbai's aerial traffic to a standstill?
Mumbai: Justin Bieber’s has to be the most anticipated gig by an international artist in India, in recent memory, trumping the hype that had been generated by Coldplay’s arrival.
The mayhem and hullabaloo that’s expected to ensue in a starstruck Mumbai is unprecedented and the city is expected to come to a traffic standstill, before the popstar takes to the stage.
However, surprisingly enough, another form of traffic cluster-mess is equally anticipated.
While Bieber will be arriving at the Mahalaxmi race course in a chartered helicopter, a major chunk of Mumbai’s elite are vying for the aerial route themselves.
According to a report by NDTV, the Mahalaxmi Racecourse has seen an aggravated demand for chopper bookings, with the Royal Western India Turf Club (RWITC) helipad in the club's second enclosure becoming a major take off point for the city’s crème de la crème, to reach Navi Mumbai’s DY Patil stadium, where the youngster will be performing.
"We are getting so many inquiries. I have reason to believe that most are for the Justin Bieber concert. We will have more bookings, I am quite certain. As it is, we see 10 landings/take-offs in a day on an average; tomorrow, the number may rise," NDTV quoted Helicopter landing officer at Mahalaxmi Racecourse D Singh as saying.
Well, that’s quite the number, we must say.
But, Mumbai is all set to be enslaved by Biebermania, and so are we!
