AR Rahman takes a dig at his sister!
Yenda pallu velakkala?’ (why didn’t you brush your teeth?) is that the title for your next production venture?” remarked AR Rahman to his elder sister AR Reihanah, who has turned producer now with a film titled Yenda Thalaila Yenna Vekkala? (Why haven’t you oiled your hair?).
“Yes, that was the comment made in a lighter vein by my bro, when I first told him about my film’s title. I feel the title is quirky and all the same it has relevance to the script. Regardless of pranks and trolls, the title has done its job and had reached the masses,” Reihanah starts her conversation with a smile.
Delving more on the subject, she says, “It’s a laugh riot with thrill elements. I saw debut director Vignesh’s short film, Mudhal Kanave and was impressed. I liked his YTYV script and chose to produce the movie. A simple act of not having oil on the hair leads to a major problem for the hero — and how he solves it is the story of the film.”
Unlike other producers, Reihana says that she goes to the shooting spot every day! “That’s because, I wanted to get hands-on experience and know about everything happening at the spot. But I did not interfere with the creative aspects. That way, it will be easier for my next venture.”
Heaping praises on RJ-turned-hero Azhar, she says, “He is a brilliant actor and has got a bright future.” On heroine Sanchita Shetty, Reihanah quips, “You will see a new Sanchita in a unique role in this movie. And Yogi Babu’s comedy is the highlight of the film. “The movie will definitely be a stress-buster for family audiences.”
There are four songs, including the promo number and a melody rendered by Saindhavi and Abhay.
