Visakhapatnam: The star performance by popular acoustic guitarist Dhruv Viswanath mixed with the sea wave rendered a melodious musicaol evening at the Hawa Mahal on Saturday that would remain etched in the hearts of the music lovers in the city forever.
The packed audience at the Hawa Mahal could not ask for more as they seemed lost in the music. APEPDCL CMD M.M. Nayak was the chief guest and launched the ‘Made in Vizag’ logo during the programme and lauded the initiative to promote Vizag on the global map for industry and tourism.
Dhruv was recently named one of 30 Great Guitarists Under”-30” in the world by an American guitar magazine. At the outset of the concert, Poojan Kohli, Tollywood playback singer from Vizag and Neha Sharma, another famous singer from the city, sang hit numbers enthralling the audience.
The Rohit Memorial Trust, which spearheaded the programme, handed over rS 50,000 raised from this show to Ms. Madhu Tungait of the ICHA Foundation – a home for destitute children in Vizag. The Trust has been conducting various fund-raising events in the city for over eight years now.
The programme managed by Razzmatazz and supported by the Andhra Pradesh Chamber of Commerce, is the first project to kick start the Made In Vizag initiative.
“The celebrity Dhruv who has his ancestral roots in Vizag, being the grandson of Visakhapatnam Port Trust’s first chairman, is a symbol of ‘Made In Vizag’.
He is also a key member of the A.R. Rehman and Vishal Sekhar's team and this show is a part of his national tour covering many of the Smart Cities in India,” said G. Anantram, Rohit Memorial Trust chairman.
