Stories behind Ed Sheeran's tattoos
Ed Sheeran revealed that he gets tattoos to remember special times, new places, awards or a hit single. Ed, who has just released his new album Divide, has more than 60 tattoos, and plans on getting more. As reported by TheSun.co.uk, the singer revealed that each of his tattoo holds a personal meaning to him. “My tattoos are memories of the moments in my career thus far. So it’s like you could look at my arm and go, ‘Ah! this was then, this was then. Rather that I am a badass’,” said Ed recently.
The singer, who sold out his two 3Arena gigs in a matter of minutes (which holds 9,500 people) is still adding to his growing collection of tattoos. Kevin Paul, the artist behind Ed’s body art, reckons that the star has spent almost 40 hours in his chair for his 60 plus designs in the past 12 months. “Every single one recently involved horrific pain, especially around the ribs and I remember one time he had to fly out to Italy the next day, and had this awful, weeping tattoo seeping through the clingfilm that used to protect it. It wasn’t an ideal situation,” the artist said.
