Shaan Rahman clears the air
Jimikki Kammal continues to enthrall public. Few days ago a creative music video with the Gujarati version of the song was brought out by a popular radio station. The internet was soon exploding with comments on how the original Jimikki Kammal was copied from this Gujuarati version. Music composer Shaan Rahman has now put up a post on his social media handle to clear the air. His post reads :
‘Dear friends, we have noticed that a group of miscreants are spreading false information that Jimikki kammal has been stolen/lifted from a Gujarati song. I usually don’t react to such stuff because I know that the audience can distinguish between what’s true and what’s not. So I usually let people be the better judge. But what I’m seeing is our very own Malayalis sharing the video through WhatsApp groups saying that Jimikki kammal was lifted from a particular Gujarati song. Jimikki kammal is a proud song of a Malayali, made by Malayalis, featured in a Malayalam film and has reached great heights. Jimmi Kimmel, BBC, International audience has danced to it, played in every radio station in India ... We’ve never expected this kind of a result for the song and we’re so proud of what the song has achieved in this short span of time. We’re proud that a Malayalam song was noticed by BBC. Lots of love poured in from all around the Globe for the song.
The video that these miscreants are spreading was an initiative by RED FM Gujarat. You can see the logo of Red FM at bottom of the said Video. And this video has my voice as well...!!!! KOTTRA .....ANGANE... My voice already there in a song that I’ve lifted ??. Now, to the point. Red FM RJs all over India has created their own different versions of our Jimikki kammal. We’re so excited and proud of it. This video is just one among the multiple versions shot by Red FM.
Jimikki kammal is our very own song. Nammude swantham paattaanu makkale ??
